I’m inspired by him, I really am. I watch each and every day as he tries new words and new skills and is not at all crippled by the fear of failure or of being wrong. I honestly can’t remember the last time I REALLY tried something new much less something new in my quest for God and I find myself envious of his bravery. At what point did I reach this stagnant place in my life and in my faith? How did I become so complacent in my spiritual mediocrity?
O God, you are my God,
earnestly I seek you;
my soul thirsts for you,
my body longs for you,
in a dry and weary land
where there is no water.
I have seen you in the sanctuary
and beheld your power and your glory.
Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you.
Psalm 63:1-3

I guess we can all learn from children.
So true we all learn from them in some way.

LOL! I really appreciated this story! I am mom again after 14 years, and having fun with all the new things...One of our funniest moments with our little man recently was also a reminder for me to watch my mouth...I have been yelling "shut up Gizmo" to one of my dogs a lot...then one day at supper, my little 10 month old son yelled out..."shut up Gizmo.." Only it came out Shub ub Gibo....and just in case we questioned it...he did it again two minutes later and pointed! It was pretty funny! They are such great littl creations!
Merry Christmas...

Spiritual mediocrity...that's a great way to put it.
I feel the same way. I guess instead of just feeling this way, I need to be DOING something about it!
I am enjoying your blogs so much! I remember being so excited when my daughter started talking. And she really hears from the Lord and tells ME things. Get ready! If you can find my post "Washington, DC comes to town" you'll see what I mean. (We had a US Senator visit our house.) God bless you!
Love,
Beth
